The 5th edition of the Jeux du tourisme (Tourism Games) took place at LaSalle College from April 21st to 23rd, 2017. This friendly competition allows Tourism Techniques students from several colleges to challenge their skills and exchange with their peers. This year, we had the honor of being the host school.

We welcomed at our downtown Montréal campus the students of Collège Montmorency, CÉGEP de Granby, Champlain College, CÉGEP Matane, Collège Mérici and ITHQ.

The Apéros de la Relève opening cocktail kicked off the weekend. More than 70 tourism professionals attended the networking event and five LaSalle College students were able to secure an internship or a job for the summer.

On April 22nd and 23rd, the teams competed on a series of tests: case study, customer service, rally, a World map quiz and a General knowledge quiz. This year, the theme of the rally was the 375th anniversary of the City of Montréal.

LaSalle College also added a variation to the customer service challenge which took place for the first time in a second language, a way of highlighting the importance of bilinguism in our institution.

During the gala, LaSalle College was awarded 2nd place overall for the 2017 Tourism Games, ahead of ITHQ. Collège Montmorency, the 2016 edition’s host, won the first place.
