The E-Bootcamp was held on Saturday, October 26. During this student entrepreneurship event, a dozen teams supported by 10 teacher coaches developed new, proactive ways to practice developing a business concept and gain confidence while doing it.
During this day of learning, the students were treated to delicious rolled ice treats handmade by Roselime, a company that uses a street food-inspired event concept. Its artisan chefs amazed participants by making delicious plant-based, gluten-free rolled ice treats in a flash.
The activity was part of the day’s entrepreneurial focus. This value is a core part of LaSalle College’s educational mission because it enables students to formulate and implement a business vision, to show critical thinking skills and an ability to capitalize on opportunities, to develop their independence and self-confidence, and to demonstrate business sense and social consciousness.
November 8 marked the E-Bootcamp’s culmination when the two winning projects were unveiled during a cocktail event. Several participation prizes were also awarded, including eight tickets to Barack Obama’s conference, as well as a laptop and gift cards for the Addison electronics store.
The winning team received a $1000 scholarship and an internship at Ellicom for their Foodless project. Team members are Diane Carolina Vallejo Toro, Angie Vanessa Tapias Guerrero, Laureen Walton-Kalfon and Kuhilani Aurélie Quesnot.
The second winning project, Alg-One, was created by team members Mehiti Peni and Margot Lemoine. They received a $500 scholarship.
