On August 26, LaSalle College students traded in their beach totes for backpacks as they prepared to start a new school year.
What they didn’t know was that this back-to-school was synonymous with a day of celebration at the College, which this year marks its 60th anniversary.
All day long, students were invited to the mezzanine where free coffee, slushes, Mr. Freeze and popcorn and brightened up their first day of school.
A GIF booth invited them to capture this moment.
“Buddies” were present to welcome them. These students, who will be roaming the halls with their LaSalle College-branded hockey jerseys, will be available all month to answer their questions.
At the end of the day, everyone was invited to a festive back-to-school cocktail hosted by a DJ.
The "instagrammable" maple cupcakes, in the colours of the 60th anniversary, were all the rage!
Our maître d’hôtel Jean-Kristen had created non-alcoholic cocktails for the occasion, served in reusable tumblers bearing the 60th anniversary logo.
The pink mocktails were made with red and white cranberries, rhubarb bitter, mint, lime and strawberry pearls.
The pale blue mocktails were made from blue raspberries, basil, peach bitter, 7Up and basil pearls.
60 years calls for a big celebration. Thank you for celebrating with us, and happy back to school to all!
