On May 7 and October 29, LaSalle College participated in Teknotek, an event to get young people interested in programs and careers in technological fields.

During this activity, nearly 500 high school students in 9th to 11th grade were able to familiarize themselves with the programs of the LaSalle College VFX and Game Design School.

Video games created by students and graduates in Video Game Programming, 3D Creation for Video Games and Game and Level Design were available to young people who wanted to test their skill.

Visitors could also take a virtual tour of the campus with a 360° video shown in a virtual reality headset.

The event on May 7 took place in Montreal at the Société des arts technologiques (SAT), while the event on October 29 was held on the Université de Sherbrooke’s Longueil campus.

Organized by TECHNOCompétences in collaboration with TechnoMontréal, Teknotek aims to stimulate a new generation’s interest in technological careers, a field that has a strong need for a specialist workforce.
