Student Digital Experience Committee

In an effort to improve the quality of the LaSalle College's student experience, we have set up a Student Digital Experience Committee by including students who are truly at the center of the discussions. 

Julie Lutz, a Fashion Design student, has been a member of this committee since June 2020 and explains the importance of her role in these meetings.

Why did you decide to join this committee?

For several years I was an Information Systems (IT) Coordinator, Analyst and Process Manager, so I know the importance of evolving processes with input from users in the field. As a student and with my experience, I wanted to share my vision and participate in improving the student digital experience, while representing my peers. In addition, in recent months, the pandemic has significantly influenced our lifestyles, including the way in which the LaSalle College communicates with its students. I therefore wanted to get involved with this committee in order to respond quickly and effectively to these new issues.

What is your involvement specifically?

My role on this committee is primarily to be the voice and eyes of the students. In particular, I participate by sharing my remarks and analyses to offer possible improvements through exchanges with several students and teachers.

What concrete projects have been implemented so far?

For the start of the Fall 2020 school year, the committee looked at digital solutions to meet, among other things, the challenges posed by distance learning, particularly with the implementation of the orientation platform and the integration of Chat to answer students' questions directly. For my part, I participated in the design of the digital platform to validate the relevance of each section in order to meet the needs of the students, in addition to conducting validation tests to ensure that the Web site was functioning properly.
