Canada's biggest fashion show made a comeback after the pandemic, in its traditional catwalk format. Nearly 300 creations were presented, showcasing the exceptional talent of LaSalle College's Fashion Design graduates in three performances bursting with color and style.

Over 1,500 spectators admired the boundless talent of our 72 students in a show that won the acclaims the public and media alike.

After several months' work, the fashion show began to take shape on May 11, installation day, during the models' general practice. For the occasion, we were lucky enough to be visited by none other than the charming Sophie Touchet, a model who has walked the catwalk for major fashion houses such as Rick Owens, Chanel and many others. Our models had the chance not only to chat with her, but also to get some priceless tips on how to prepare for the big day!

The Big Day

On site since the early hours of the morning, all the students were hard at work to ensure the success of the 2023 edition of the Signature fashion show! Behind the scenes, the teams are ready: dressers, designers, coordinators, set designers, stylists, dressmakers and models.

Our fashion design graduates had the chance to showcase their creations during the evening's three performances. A number of industry greats were on hand, including Patsy Gallant, Geneviève Borne, Zach Zoya, Laurence Morisset, Coco Labbée, Emy Lalune and Stéphane Le Duc, to name but a few.

Each performance closed with our proud graduates walking the runway with one of their creation to their side. The atmosphere was festive, and our guests made it clear that our students had succeeded in impressing many! The vibrancy and creativity of the show had been something to behold.

The 2020-2023 cohort presented an exceptional fashion show that will go down in the history of the Collège.

Discover Tomorrow's Designers in the First-ever Signature Metaverse

XXX

As you can with some big brands, you can now discover the creations of tomorrow's designers in the very first Signature metaverse, developed in collaboration with Montreal start-ups iFeelvirtuel and ExoTwiin, as well as Near Hub.

Each graduate was able to immortalize his or her favorite creation in the form of a 3D avatar. These avatars are featured throughout the metaverse, along with photos, videos and the Signature 2023 virtual reality fashion show. The original and creative environment is accessible from your smartphone, tablet, computer, smart TV or virtual reality headset: just like in a video game!

The experience continues on Instagram, where each avatar is featured as a filter on the LaSalle College account and on each graduate's account. Avatars will appear on phones and tablets at the click of a button, and can be enlarged, photographed, filmed and even shared.

A Visionary Collaboration

The conception of Signature 2023's large-format program was an opportunity for student creations to rub shoulders with the talent of a great photographer, Sylvain Blais, three visionary stylists - YSO, Randy Smith, Tinashe Musara - and make-up and hair specialists at the top of their game.

Signature is an opportunity for our students to launch their career with practical skills and experiences they'll use going forward. Working with seasonned professionals is not only exciting, but also a great way to get a feel of what your career will look like!

Eco-Responsible Accessories

Signature is an opportunity to discover the fruit of three years of study in Fashion Design, through which the graduates share their message through clothing. In the spirit of eco-responsibility, the team responsible for creating the accessories, led by Morganna Leblanc, is proud to announce that nearly 85% of them were made by upcycling existing materials, trimmings and garments. In addition to being perfect complements to the creations, these accessories demonstrate the talent and ingenuity of the 2023 Cohort.

In a few weeks' time, Morganna will be appearing on the Télé-Québec program Y'a du monde à messe hosted by Christian Bégin to discuss this initiative.
