Orientation activities: welcome to the new students!
To promote its students’ inclusion and fulfilment, once again, LaSalle College organized orientation activities for its new students.
These activities aim to encourage camaraderie among students, while making sure that they feel at home from the start of their program.
Visits, treasure hunts, pizza dinners, interactive quizzes, etc. These activities were naturally useful, but were also intended to help students get to know each other and foster community spirit.
Each field of study had their own activities.
Fashion students were photographed on a red carpet, then explored the streets of Montreal on a treasure hunt with the theme of “Fashion icons”
Business and Technologies students attended a networking feast, before testing their knowledge with the Kahoot interactive quiz. They also went on a virtual tour and watched demonstrations by former students.
Education students pushed themselves to the limit in a Fort Boyard-style activity, then gathered to take an oath to their future profession and draft a letter to themselves that they will open when they graduate.
The School of Hotel Management and Tourism had several workshops to offer their new members. Preparing mocktails, culinary creation, virtual reality, Air Canada plane boarding simulation and much more on offer.
Finally, the Social Sciences and Arts and Literature students took part in a large-scale treasure hunt that took them to the BANQ, museums, university campuses, downtown and Quartier des Spectacles.
This year, the orientation activities were built around the festivity theme. Their busy day ended with a cocktail party to celebrate the College’s 60th anniversary. Many surprises awaited them for a great end to the day.
