This year's annual Fashion Marketing graduating students’ event, E20, was held in a slightly different format.
Previously known as Enterprise, the competition was presented as a live virtual event to allow graduates to showcase their innovative final projects despite the current isolation situation, due to COVID-19.
Business concept presentations were organized under the themes of SUSTAINABILITY, COLLABORATION and INNOVATION.
Three industry experts were brought in to judge these highly creative projects: Melisa Alessi (Frank And Oak) for the Sustainable development theme, Eva Hartling (The Brand is Female) for the Collaboration theme, and Anick Beaulieu (C2 International) for the Innovation theme.
Debbie Zakaib, Executive Director of mmode - La Grappe métropolitaine de la mode, hosted the event.
The industry judges had previewed the presentations for their respective themes. They unveiled three semi-finalist teams per theme, before making their selection for the "Expert's Choice Award".
The following teams stood out:
In the end, the Solace team, with their innovative concept of a fashionable bracelet that doubles as a straw that can detect drugs in a drink, won the title of "Best E20 Business Concept", as voted by the public.
Scholarships were also awarded to students who distinguished themselves during their time at LaSalle College, including the "Alumnus Award", the "Graduate Scholarship", the "Faculty Excellence Awards" and the "Academic Excellence Award".
What an amazing event it was, thanks to the E20 team who worked very hard to make it happen nonetheless.
A very special evening indeed, bringing together the Fashion Marketing graduating students who are wrapping up their studies in a very unusual situation!
