Without A Yes, It's A No!
Last Friday, the College Directorate and the AGEL, LaSalle College’s Student Association, gathered at the Student Corner to sign the partnership agreement "Without a yes, it’s a no!" that condemn sexual violence in college and university communities and aims to prevent them.
"Without a yes, it’s a no!" is an initiative of postsecondary institutions and students associations, endorsed by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur and the Secrétariat à la condition féminine. Following the signing of the partnership, many tools will be provided to the Student Affair Services to increase awareness about consent within the College community.
During the ceremonial signing of the agreement, Mr. Jacques Marchand, General Director of LaSalle College, and Mrs. Marie-France Tassé, Academic Dean of the LCI Education network, were representing the College Directorate. Mrs Harroop-Kaur Nirbal, Social Sciences student and president of the AGEL, and Mr. Vincent Terzana, Hotel Management student and treasurer of the AGEL, were the signatory for the Student Association. Both parties are proud to support this campaign and take an official stand against sexual violence.
Following the signature, a mocktail was served at the Plaza by the International School of Hotel Management and Tourism students, to celebrate the upcoming partnership.
