The students of Special Care Counselling at LaSalle College have the unique opportunity to learn about international cooperation through a long-term project, the Peru Project.

The goal of the Proyecto de Vida trip is to share the educational practices acquired in Quebec with local organizations of Collique, a disadvantaged neighborhood in Lima, Peru.

The project, which lasts 18 months, is aimed at preparing students for their first experience in international cooperation.

Before it begins, each participant takes part in training, fundraising and experiences facilitating adaptation to Peruvian culture.

Once there, participants stay with local families. They work in collaboration with various partner organizations in the Comas region, about 15 kilometers from downtown Lima.

It is an opportunity for them to apply their academic achievements in a different cultural context.
