Two LaSalle College Students Competed at the Grand Finale of the Pérou Gourmet Contest

October 27, 2016

On October 25th, LaSalle College hosted the final event of the third edition of the Perou Gourmet contest. Organized by the Chamber of Commerce Peru-Canada of Montreal in partnership with LaSalle College, the contest is open to students enrolled in a full-time culinary program and who are 18 years of age or older.

The first jury selection was on October 3rd and 6 semi-finalists went on to the next step. During the semi-finals on October 17th at Le Fuchsia restaurant, two out of the three selected finalists were from the LaSalle College’s Professional Cooking DEP program.

More than a hundred people attended the final where our students, Andreza Thomaz de Lima and Simon Beaupré, respectively won the second and third place, sharing a $600 bursary. Maria de los Angeles Ortiz from Pearson Culinary School won the grand prize, a one-week gourmet trip to Peru.

Congratulations to all winners!
