Two students in LaSalle College’s Professional Cooking (DEP) each earned a scholarship awarded by Fondation ARQ, overseen by the Association des restaurateurs du Québec.
The scholarship rewards top-performing students who have earned the highest grades and performed well during their internships.
Students in the DEP program must complete a five-week internship at a food service company or restaurant.
Zampia Fitsodaskalakis completed her internship at Le Mousso, headed by creative chef Antonin Mousseau-Rivard. This year, the restaurant was voted Restaurant of the Year by the Lauriers’ Awards of Quebec Gastronomy.
Mauricio Nunez successfully interned at Patrice Pâtissier with the well-known Patrice Demers, who was named Pastry Chef of the Year by the same organization.
Both establishments hired the students after they finished their internships.
Congratulations to the scholarship recipients!
