With March 1st fast approaching, it is finally time to choose your college program, and you may be wondering about the many options available to you. Fortunately, we are here to guide you and help you make an informed decision.

DEC in Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Education progam is designed for you if you are a person full of energy and creativity, if you are pedagogue and patient, and if you love kids. Whether it is in a CPE, in a daycare, or in a school childcare facility, you’ll be able to work with children from 0 to 12 years of age and will be able to meet their physical, emotional and psychological needs.

At the end of your training, you will obtain a certification that conforms with Ministry of Family standards. In addition, you’ll have everything you need to open your own center or a daycare in your home, if that is what you wish!

Here are a few of the courses in your program:

  • Childhood development
  • Art and Creativity in Early Childcare Centers
  • Educational Program for Early Childcare Centers
  • Planning activities
  • Observing Children's Behaviour
  • Child's Family Life and Social Environment
  • Challenging Behaviors in children
  • Nutrition for Children
  • Etc.

p.s. You'll have the opportunity to hone you skills in our Observation room or at the LaSalle des Petits daycare, as soon as your first year. They have access to the department’s game library where they can borrow toys and games.
