Students in their final year of the Business Management program presented their innovative business projects before a panel composed of industry personalities at the CEO2018 event.

According to Claude Marchand, CEO of LaSalle College’s parent network, LCI Education, “entrepreneurship runs in our veins.” Students proved this once again during the CEO2018 event (previously 2.017 inc).

Inspired by the CBC television show Dragon’s Den, the competition took place in front of a full-house of 300 guests.

The six finalist teams appeared one after the other on-stage in the Jean-Paul Morin Hall to take turns presenting their original business concepts.

They had to convince the five industry panelists that their final project was worthy of winning one of three scholarships.

The six finalists participating in CEO2018 were:

  • AskGrads
  • Petit Gourmet
  • Les pâtisseries Du Buck Vert
  • Cafécours
  • Insieme, Café – Bistro
  • Babba’s World

After a long and drawn out deliberation, the five judges finally chose three winners:

  • First place: Babba’s World
  • Second place: Café — Bistro Insieme
  • Third place: Les pâtisseries Du Buck Vert

This year’s event was organized by a team of six final-year students supervised by two management teachers. The organizing committee was responsible for fundraising activities, among other things.

Great job everyone and we’ll see you next year at CEO2019!
