Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) - LaSalle College Montreal

post-graduation work permit

UPDATE MARCH 22, 2024: LaSalle College Montréal is pleased to clarify that it is not impacted by the Québec government's announcement to restrict access to immigration for students from non-subsidized colleges. LaSalle College is a private post-secondary educational institution subsidized by the Ministère de l'Éducation du Québec. It is also a designated learning institution (DLI).

Our students' access to the post-graduation work permit is therefore not affected by this measure.

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

International students may be eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) if they graduated from LaSalle College, a designated learning institution (DLI), and want to stay in Canada temporarily to work.

Graduation from a DLI doesn’t automatically make international students eligible for a PGWP.

The PGWP is only available once in a lifetime.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a PGWP, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Your study program must be 900 hours or longer.
  • Your program must lead to 1 of the following:
  • diplôme d’études professionnelles (DEP) (diploma of vocational studies [DVS] in English)
  • attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP) (attestation of vocational specialization [AVS])
  • diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC) (diploma of college studies [DCS])
  • attestation d’études collégiales (AEC) (attestation of collegial studies [AS])
  • You’re enrolled in a PGWP-eligible program.
  • You must meet the other PGWP criteria.

For the complete list of eligibility criteria, please visit the Government of Canada website.
