In the Specialization in Business Intelligence program, students will learn about a company’s different departments and how they interact. They will learn about the design and modelling of an information system within the context of business intelligence.

This program will help students perfect their understanding of elements that interact with databases, such as the language SQL. They will also come to understand the challenges involved in data collection and learn how to practise data integration, analysis and visualization using business intelligence tools such as Microsoft’s BI suite.

This program will enable students to develop skills that will be applied to meet complex organizational needs and sustain an innovative culture.

In the Specialization in Business Intelligence program, students will be trained on the most cutting edge concepts and technologies to progress in the field of business intelligence.

This program leads to an Attestation of College Studies (AEC).

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to make the most of their skills and work in a number of possible positions:

  • Business intelligence analyst
  • SQL developer
  • BI data analyst
  • BI analyst
  • BI technician

Students must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Have obtained a DEC in Computer Science Technology
  • Training considered sufficient by the College
  • Professional experience considered sufficient by the College
  • Combination of training and professional experience considered sufficient by the College
  • Primary Functions of an Organization (45 h)
  • Databases (90 h)
  • Database Programming (60 h)
  • Dimensional Modeling (60 h)
  • Integration and Analysis of Business Data (90 h)
  • Presentation of Business Data (60 h)
  • Problem Solving in a Company (90 h)
  • Internship or Final Project (300 h)

The use of a laptop computer is mandatory (learn more). This laptop must be equipped with the Windows operating system to work with all software. Standard or student license software must be installed when requested by teachers.

The following features are required for PCs:

  • Processor: Intel I5 or AMD A8 compatible with VT-X virtualization
  • Memory: 8 GB minimum
  • Hard drive: 500 GB minimum
  • Screen: 14 inches minimum
  • Connectivity: USB 3.0, Wi-Fi and NIC LAN

You will need a USB-RJ45 adaptor if your laptop doesn't have a network jack.

Required software: Office suite (Excel and Power BI).

The school includes a student-run computer club, which provides support to new computer science students and organizes sports and cultural activities.
