Flight Attendant

Can you tell us more about your career path?
While I was studying at LaSalle College in the Tourism Techniques program, I got a job working at the airport as a passenger service agent for Swissport.

I increasingly took on more responsibilities. I became the lead agent and was responsible for delegating my coworkers to ensure the planes left on schedule. This job was very rewarding and an excellent beginning to my career in the aviation industry.

It ultimately gave me the courage to apply for a flight attendant job.

Though I have a passion for travel, I had always feared flying. But working at the airport, I saw how many flights left every single day without error. I developed greater trust and I decided to take a leap of faith.

I applied to Air Canada Express, based in Toronto, and got the job. So I packed my bags and moved six hours away!

I hope to eventually transition to another company, which will allow me to fly to even further destinations and see more of this beautiful world. The sky is not the limit in the aviation industry.

How did your education at LaSalle College help you?
My education plays a huge role in where I am right now. I always loved the idea of travel, but this program helped me turn it into a career!

It showed me that there are more paths in the travel industry than I could have ever imagined. It opened my eyes to new things and places I didn't know existed.

Our teachers always made us all feel like individuals who mattered, and I think that makes a huge difference in your education.

Overall, studying at LaSalle College gave me the confidence I'd been yearning for and the skills to achieve anything I put my mind to.

What advice would you give to our students in hotel management and tourism?
I would say to always follow your heart. If you do that, you will always be led in the best and most exciting directions.

Never be afraid to try new things. Taste food, visit places, meet people and fall in love with the culture! Never turn down an opportunity out of fear. You'll only regret the things you didn't try!
