On March 26, the Montréal finals of the Global Student Entrepreneurship Contest came to an end. During this second year, the nine finalist teams presented their business concept to a jury composed of Gabrielle Breton, Maude Rondeau and Raquel Tulk, three LaSalle College graduates and now successful entrepreneurs.
In this second year, Maude Angers-Lessard won first place, convincing the jury of the relevance and excellence of her project, Momz Maternité—a maternity clothing company for young mothers. She won $500 from LaSalle College, a gift certificate from Espace Imagine, an annual membership to Axent entrepreneurs when starting the business, as well as coaching by specialists from the Centre d’entreprises et d’innovation de Montréal (CEIM). She will also represent the Montréal campus at the international finals on May 29! Ngoc Khanh Nguyen came in second place and also received the Audience’s Choice award for her business concept, Agence Flyless. Her project aims to help people travel—without leaving Montréal—by offering virtual cultural activities.

After several months of hard work, the nine teams—guided by their coaches—were able to develop an idea leading to an innovation that meets the needs of a target audience. Contestants had the opportunity to let their vision unfold, develop their problem-solving and decision-making skills, and demonstrate their autonomy and self-confidence. To support participants throughout the development of their projects, the College offered workshops on various topics, such as the ideation process, prototyping, and marketing, among others.
Entrepreneurship is central to the LCI Education network’s educational mission. The network is proud to support entrepreneurship projects and to allow our students from the Montréal, Morocco and Tunisia campuses to assume their role as global citizens.
