The Hotel Management Techniques program (DEC) is designed for students with a flair for human interaction and a desire to work in  an international milieu.

Training consists of acquiring fundamental knowledge of the hotel industry, such as: hotel organization and management, promotion and planning of events, familiarization of Quebec’s geography for tourism, basic chef school, techniques of food and beverage services, nutrition and information technology.

Courses are taught by top-notch professionals in the industry who provide graduates with the keys to success in the job market.

Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to make the most of their skills and work in a number of possible positions:

Do the Work-Study Approach (ATE)

Also known as Co-op Program, the Work-Study Approach for Vocational and Technical Training allows you to work and get paid in your field of study. You can accummulate up to 6 months of professional experience before you actually graduate. The ATE mention (Alternance Travail-Études) will appear on your report card as well as on your diploma.

Each job period lasts anywhere between 8 to 16 weeks and happens during the summer break. The ATE is recognized by MELS (the ministère de l’Éducation, du loisir et du sport)

Complete a bachelor’s degree in only 1.5 years

Admission criteria

Have obtained a Secondary School Diploma (DES) and completed the following courses :

  • Language of Instruction from Secondary V
  • Second Language from Secondary V
  • Mathematics CST 4e (or Math 426)
  • Physical Sciences from Secondary IV
  • History from Secondary IV

or

Have obtained a Professional Studies Diploma (DEP) and completed the following courses:

  • Language of Instruction from Secondary V
  • Second Language from Secondary V
  • Mathematics CST 4e (or Math 426)

or

Have obtained an equivalent education or an instruction deemed sufficient. Every case will be analysed by the college.

Level

  • This Program leads to a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) (Senior Matriculation) or Attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC).
  • Holders of a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Hotel Management Techniques are qualified to pursue university studies.

LaSalle College has reached special agreements with numerous universities, allowing its graduates to obtain equivalence credits for courses successfully completed.
