From November 8 to 10, LaSalle College students got updated on the latest technology trends during Tech Week, held at Jean-Paul Morin Hall.

They kicked things off on November 8 with a presentation from INT – Innovators in Technology, LaSalle College’s IT programs association.

Next, participants took part in a workshop about the Agile method, led by teacher Nariman Mansour. As part of this activity, students used balloons to put into practice the industry’s most popular management method.

They also worked together to solve complex puzzles during the Puzzles and Clues activity.

Students Meet Industry Leaders

Tech Week was open to all students and gave them an opportunity to attend sessions led by high-level presenters from the IT field.

For example, a representative from Cisco, the worldwide leader in IT networks and technology, came to discuss the future of IT networks with students.

Information about the cloud and IT security was also presented during a session led by a representative from OVH, a well-known company specializing in cloud computing.

The week ended with a presentation about LaSalle College’s network from the College’s own IT department.

“We organized this technology week so students could learn about technology trends and meet industry leaders. We also wanted to promote dialog among students in the various IT programs at LaSalle College,” says Alexandre Bufferne, coordinator of the Computer Science programs.
