The second year Fashion Marketing students of LaSalle College presented the fifth edition of the annual Soirée Mode Collège LaSalle (SMCL).
This self-funded and self-managed event allowed students to apply the various notions learned during their training: fashion styling, budget management, model selection and scenography.
The event presented this season’s trends in three fashion shows: OFF-THE-GRID, VAPORWAVE and MOTEL MADNESS. The presentations took place on Saturday November 10th, at 3 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., in Jean-Paul-Morin Hall at LaSalle College.
The spectators were immersed in three concepts:
Welcome to Motel Madness, where your (in)sanity is our utmost priority. With our wide variety of guests ranging from gypsies to con artists, bank robbers to mob bosses, we guarantee you will meet some like-minded troublemakers. Mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice, we provide shelter and entertainment to the wicked. We hope you enjoy your stay.
Did you know that you are being filmed over 100 times a day? Surveillance cameras and phone trackers are chasing you, hypnotizing you, controlling and watching you constantly. Your digital footprint has more value than your rights. They know where you are 24/7. You are just an individual, one of many and you are at the mercy of this dark and mysterious society.
Hit play on the boombox, turn off your Nintendo, sit back and enter a realm defined by futuristic acceleration. Inspired by 90s web design, glitch art, Tokyo neon nights and 80s-style colour themes will leave you nothing short of nostalgic.
