Quebec-Catalonia 2016

July 20, 2016

After receiving a grant from the Quebec government’s Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie (Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie), LaSalle College Montréal and LCI Barcelona – FD Moda took part in a new project called Quebec-Catalonia, launched in 2016.

Through this international mobility partnership, eight students from LaSalle College Montréal had the opportunity to go to Barcelona (Spain) and complete a training focusing on shoe, bag and accessory design. This 45-hour training took place from June 28 to July 15, and was available to students in the LaSalle College Montréal Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing programs.

The same opportunity was offered to six LCI Barcelona students enrolled in fashion design. They come to complete a 45-hour training on technical clothing design. This training, which lasts three weeks, is offered from July 16 to August 2 at LaSalle College Montréal.

The Montréal participants came back to Canada with precise technical know-how that they can now apply to the industry. This opportunity will also allow them to become imbued with the European cultures, and will serve as a valuable addition to their CVs.
