On Friday, February 27, 2015, two students in the DEP Professional Cooking program of LaSalle College’s International School of Hotel Management and Tourism took part in the Pommes Qualité Québec competition held in Longueuil. Ms. Soraya Ramiro Sarmentero and Mr. Sydney Emmanuel Duclerville both skillfully presented dishes showcasing apples.
We are proud to recognize their participation, determination and perseverance in honing their skills by standing out in the food service field. Their participation in this type of competition not only provides them with an enriching experience, but contributes to and complements their classroom learning.
We are pleased to note that Ms. Soraya Ramiro Sarmentero took 2nd place in this provincial competition, whose participants included over 20 food service students from different cooking schools throughout Quebec. Soraya Ramiro Sarmentero has also won the Pérou-Gourmet culinary contest last November.
