The Fashion Illustration CAO program
is designed to provide students with
the knowledge and skills required
to become an illustrator in the apparel industry.

Students will perfect their patternmaking skills
through mastery of the graphic and computer
techniques required to create electronic files.

The objective of the program is for students
to understand and execute all the functions
of a computer-assisted illustrator, who is
therefore specialized in graphic representation
of fashion concepts. Using electronic materials,
students will learn to plan, organize and supervise
the process involved in creating a collection from
start to finish. Lastly, knowledge of Photoshop
and Illustrator – two widely-used programs in
the industry – will be an asset for graduates
entering the job market.

Employment Prospects

Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to make the most of their skills and work in a number of possible positions :

  • Assistant designer
  • Illustrator

Admission criteria

The admission criteria for this program are :

  • A Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Fashion Design OR
  • An attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC) in Fashion Design OR
  • An attestation of equivalent studies in Fashion Design recognized by the ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport, as per admissions criteria for an AEC, set by the ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport. OR
  • Equivalent training and experience in the clothing industry recognized by the ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport, as per admissions criteria for an AEC, set by the ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport.
